What is the difference between gate valve and globe valve
date:2021-01-25 15:46
The gate valve is a gate with opening and closing parts. The movement direction of the gate valve is perpendicular to the fluid direction. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed. Stop valve, also known as shut-off valve, is a forced sealing valve. When the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the disc to prevent leakage of the forced sealing surface. The main differences between them are as follows
1. Different structure
The structure of the stop valve is that the hand wheel rotates with the stem to open and close, while the structure of the gate valve is that the hand wheel rotates and the stem moves up and down.
2. Different flow
Gate valve is required to be fully open or closed, and globe valve is not required.
3. Different flow direction requirements
The stop valve has the flow direction requirement, but the gate valve does not have the inlet and outlet requirements.
4 different sealing
The sealing surface of the gate valve is a small trapezoidal side, and the valve core falls off, which is equivalent to closing the valve. The gate valve is sealed by the side of the valve core gate, the sealing effect is not as good as the stop valve, and the valve core will not fall off as the stop valve is closed at the same time as the valve station.
